Respect Your Path

In my past days, I was guilty of comparing myself to others - I viewed competition as an external phenomena. Still, I must remain mindful of comparing my path and progression with my neighbors. We are all at different stages in our lives and no path is equal to that of another.

When we are uncomfortable with our now, we may project where we could/should/would be as compared to someone else. This feeling is better directed internally rather than to others.

Competition is little about being better than an external source.

Really though, we are competing with ourselves, trying to be better than our yesterday.

The moment we direct the burning fire of progression to what we can control (focusing on improving as individuals) is the moment we begin to realize our very powerful potential. Where we are today is where we are. We can only move forward if choose to do so.
