A Raleigh native, I value the comfort of my roots and feel fortunate to raise my family here.

I began my career in public accounting as a practicing CPA, helping clients navigate complex business challenges. While I thrived in motivating teams and serving clients, I quickly realized that my true passion wasn’t just in accounting, despite my knack for numbers. This experience, however, helped me build a strong foundation in business operations, which fueled my confidence as an entrepreneur.

 

In 2013, I pivoted to Vaco, a global recruiting and consulting firm. For the past five years, I have served as the Managing Partner of the Raleigh practice, a $40M business and growing. I’ve also been the office’s top salesperson since 2015, ranking among the top 10 globally out of over 500 producers in five of the last seven years. For the past two years, I have been the top salesperson in the entire $1B+ organization. At Vaco, we specialize in talent solutions for growth companies, offering a best-in-class project delivery model, as well as outsourced services in accounting, finance, HR, and IT consulting. I’m passionate about developing high-performing teams and helping organizations thrive.

In 2020, I founded Beyond Basketball (formerly Alley Oop Hoops), a 501(c)(3) non-profit focused on preparing youth for life beyond sports. Through mentorship and programming, we support student-athletes in areas like financial literacy, STEM, entrepreneurship, career readiness, and wellness—both physical and mental. I’m also deeply involved in the local business ecosystem, as an active member of the Raleigh Chamber of Commerce, CED, NCACPA, and the startup community.

In 2019, I founded LMH Capital, named after my two sons, Liam and McDaniel, to focus on investing in early-stage growth companies.
